ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: RULES

  • Abstract submission deadline extended to 31 March 2025, 23:59, CET.
  • GENERAL CONDITIONS

    • Abstracts are required for all oral presentations and E-posters.
    • Only 2 abstracts per presenter will be accepted for oral presentation.
    • Abstracts must be submitted in English. No linguistic revision will be made.

    CONTENTS OF THE ABSTRACT

    • The abstract word limit is max. 300 words per abstract.
    • The title should be as brief as possible but long enough to clearly indicate the nature of the study.
    • No identifying features such as names of authors, hospitals, medical schools, clinics or cities may be listed in the title or abstract text, as a “blind” review process will be used. You will be asked to enter the name(s) of author(s) and their institution(s), when you submit your abstract online.
    • A maximum number of 10 authors is allowed per abstract.
    • The abstract must include the following sections:
      Introduction and Objective: Clearly state the purpose of the study.
      Methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects clearly.
      Results: Present your results in a logical sequence in text, table and illustrations.
      Conclusions: Emphasize new and important aspects of the study (perhaps as a discussion section) and the conclusions that are drawn from them.

      Relevance of the study: Why is it important?
    • All abbreviations must be defined in first use.
    • Statements such as “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented” will NOT be accepted.
    • Data previously published will NOT be accepted.
    • Do NOT include references, credits, or grant support
    • Use of brand names: Generic names must be used for all references to products or companies. The brand name can be inserted as a reference at the bottom of the abstract page. Papers containing brand names/company names in the abstract text (i.e. not in a reference at the bottom of the page) may be rejected for this reason only. SEOP and SPOP reserve the right to replace any brand name with a generic name without further notice.

    Abstracts can be submitted within the following topics:

    4. Hip
    5. Lower Limb Deformity
    6. Foot & Ankle
    7. Sports
    8. Upper Limb & Hand
    9. Neuromuscular
    10. Tumors & Infections
    11. Dysplasias, Congenital & Syndromic
    12. Miscellaneous

    AUTHORS AND REGISTRATION

    • In order to submit an oral presentation or e-poster, the first author must be registered in the Congress.
    • There will be a maximum of 10 authors per abstract, who will be identified by both their last names and the initials of their first names.
    • In order to guarantee anonymity during the evaluation process, the authors will be listed on the submission form but will not appear in the abstract available for review.

    DEADLINES AND ACCEPTANCE OF ABSTRACTS

    The deadline to submit an abstract is 15 March 2025, 23:59, CET.

    Notification of acceptance or rejection will be communicated only to the submitting author by 15 April 2025 and will also be published in the restricted area of the website.

    The Scientific Committee reserves the right to request additional information on the abstract submitted as well as on the suitability of its presentation as E-poster.

    PRESENTATIONS DURING THE CONGRESS

    Oral presentation and E-posters must be submitted before 23 May 2025 via the restricted area of the Congress website, using author’s personal passwords.

    Oral Communications

    The day and time for the presentation of oral presentation will be confirmed by email and can also be accessed via the restricted area of the website.

    Oral presentations will have a duration of 4 minutes plus 2 minutes for answering questions. The speaker will provide his/her presentation in Power Point (ppt format).

    The Speaker may orally present in Spanish or Portuguese, but the slides must be written in English.

    The 7 best oral presentations will be selected by the Scientific Committee and presented in the Plenary Room, in a dedicated Session. The SEOP-SPOP Best Oral Paper Award will be attributed to one of these communications.

    E-posters

    E-posters will be displayed in the exhibition area for the duration of the congress. The 7 best E-posters will be selected by the Scientific Committee and must be presented in the Plenary Room. The Speaker may present in Spanish or Portuguese, but the E-poster must be written in English. Best E-posters presentations will have a duration of 2 minutes plus 2minutes for answering questions. The SEOP-SPOP Best E-Poster Award will be attributed to one of these communications.

    ACCEPTANCE RULES

    Submission of an oral presentation or e-poster implies acceptance of these rules. By submitting, authors agree that their work may be used by the I INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS SEOP-SPOP for congress-related purposes, including promotion and educational dissemination.
